And the Artsie Award goes to...

Thanks to everyone for last night -- what a great time (more commentary to come)! Below is a list of people/shows that received awards. I had heard that the T-D was going to publish a list but haven't heard whether it did. I know that Aaron (poor early-waking Aaron!) mentioned the awards on the news this morning, though. Yay!

Congratulations to all -- people who received awards, nominees, presenters and to the whole community!

They actually played a video clip this morning, but I didn't find it on the website. Congratulations on a job well done!

Angela Lehman-Rios from the T-D was there to cover the event--her story should appear on Tue.

Angela Lehman-Rios just emailed that the late-breaking story of the baby in the bag in Chesterfield bumped the RTCC Awards story--she hopes to see it published tomorrow.

What a horrible story -- umbilical cord still attached! What's wrong with people?

I saw that story last night on the news and just shook my head. About 10 years ago when I was living in an apt on the Southside I lived next to this woman and her 14 year old daughter. They both seemed very nice and seemed to have a good relationship with each other. However, I came home one day to find the Mother sitting on the porch crying. She informed me that her daughter was in labor. She had no idea that she was even pregnant. Now granted she was a large 14 year old - but I just could not even grasp how it was possible that 9 months had gone by and she had noticed nothing. And the father was a much older man – in his late 30’s and she had no idea that they were even seeing each other. It scared the crap out of me and made me take note on how hard parents must fight to make sure that communication lines stay open with their children. I am just so glad they found this baby alive.
