Christmas with the Crawfords

If you take a look at the program for this production (the program download feature on the RTP website is pretty neat), you'll see it is positively swarming with TheatreVCU students. This could be pretty cool -- new blood, fresh perspectives, young energy -- or it could be a recipe for something not-so-cool. I'll hold off on any judgement until I see for myself.

And I must add that I have trouble thinking of Joan Crawford and Triangle Players together without a vision of Robert Throckmorton sneaking in. Where for art thou, Robert?

Robert was just in "Avow" at the Firehouse with me...and was FABULOUS I might add! The entire cast was so great to work with. And does everyone know that Irene Ziegler lives in a MANSION on Route 5??? No lie…it’s an old barn that she and her lovely hubby converted (and it sits on the water.) The living room is so large that it screams…DO A PLAY HERE!!! I think Irene is game for that too!

It's nice to be blog-summoned! And RTP graciously did invite me to continue my Crawford tradition with them, but it wasn't in the cards for me this time around. I hope they will ask me back. They have been so good to me for so long and I adore working in that intimate environment and for those audiences. I love RTP.

But if you are hungering for more me, come see the reading of "Mr. Marmalade" at Firehouse on Dec 7...great, twisted, funny play and a killer cast and director.

I will be interested to know exactly what you think about the show. I am in the show myself and would like to know what you think about our "young blood."
