As many of you have heard, Liz Marks passed away this morning. Liz was a mainstay in the Richmond community for many years and she helped dozens and dozens of actors in their careers through her casting agency. Beyond being successful, respected and liked, she was also recognized for her excellent work with a Emmy nomination in 2004. She will be missed.
No funeral arrangements have been announced yet, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the Caring Bridge site set up in her name for further information.

Liz was an inspiration to all. I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing. She was extremely talented and extremenly generous. Her talent and energy and light will certainly be missed. The world is a better place to have had you in it.
My heart goes out to Liz's family and friends. She was such a talented performer and source of inspiration. She gave me a big break and cast me in a 50's review at Matt's Pub in the early 1980's and we worked together many times after that. I even lived above her on Park Ave. and we had some really fun times together. Her incredible energy and spirit will always be remembered by everyone who had the good fortune to know her.

I wrote a blog post about Liz today as well. just a sweet, sweet woman if there ever was one.
Her fingerprints are all over many an acting career here in our town, and we she touched many lives with her grit and determination. What an inspiration. THANK YOU LIZ MARKS!!
And briefly, in relation to the discussions going on in other threads, a few professional hiccups pale mightily in comparison to the hardships this woman faced.
Throughout many a personal and professional setback, she never complained, made excuses, scapegoated anyone or blamed others for the things she wanted but didn't get. She KEPT MOVING FORWARD!!
I want to be just like her when I grow up.
Liz wrote her own ticket with a cabaret show, sold real estate, taught classes performed everywhere (in many cases for free), gave freely of her preciously short time and boundless energy, and demonstrated a resourcefulness many of us can only dream of summoning up from within ourselves. She lived with a loving, compassionate tenacity.
She was happy for the success of others, never petty or judgmental, and she helped out everyone she ever met, because she saw that everyone is unique and special and right in some way for some job or another.
The world could use more people like Liz Marks.
