Taking suggestions

It’s looking like Team T will be able to take a quick trip to NYC around Christmas time, so I’m taking suggestions on what show people think we should see. One night, the girls are probably going to go see “A Chorus Line” but on the second night, we’re hoping to sneak out just Holly and I to see something. I’m intrigued by this show “Spring Awakening” that caught a little buzz in its off-Broadway run and will be opening on Broadway on Nov. 17. But then there’re the shows that have been around for awhile like “The Drowsy Chaperone” or “Spamalot.” I’ve heard Martin Short’s one-man deal is hilarious and of course there’s 3 or 4 off-Broadway shows that sound interesting (“Jewtopia” in particular catches one’s eye), but are they worth spending the only free night in New York to see?

What would you see if you had one night in New York right now?

Hey Dave,
Thanks for the great write up of the Coalition Benefit! I just wanted to make one correction. The singer/songwriter's name that "rocked the house" is Amy Henderson, who is currently appearing in the Richmond Triangle Players' production of "Sordid Lives".
Thanks so much!
Kim Jones Clark
p.s. Your daughters were wonderful!

"A Chorus Line" is definately worth seeing. So is "The Drowsy Chaperone". Also, if you've not seen "Wicked", now is a good time, as Ana Gastayer, best known for her comedic work on Saturday Night Live, is now playing the lead in that production. She recieved rave reviews during the sit-down production in Chicago, and is definately worth the trip. You also can never go wrong with old faithfuls, such as "Phantom", "The Lion King", and "Beauty and the Beast." 'Tis the season to spend money, fa la la la la....

You can miss Martin Short's show, it's nothing new. See Drowsy Chaperone! And Chorus Line tickets seem to be sold out until the new year - good luck....
