What about the People's Choice award?

Who won people's choice?

The event next year needs to be no longer than an hour and a half/2 hours max. It is getting way too long, and slogged down by bad writing, unfunny jokes, jokes that go on too long, and too much talking. Less talking, more performing and more awards. Cut to the chase, folks. If you're gonna have it on a school/work night, it just cannot run that long again. It was long and tedious to sit through. I appreciate what you guys are doing, but hire a production manager to keep things moving next year, PLEASE :)

Yeah, I have to agree with the previous anon comment. Every year this ceremony gets longer and more gratuitous. People just get more and more drunk and childish, which does a major disservice to the integrity of the evening. Also, watching Nutsy the Squirrel hop around for as long as he did, the awful scripted dialogue and the mayor making jokes about an industry that he clearly doesn't even support is just painful. Bad enough that the industry awards are run by the critics. Be merciful - one intermission, two hours.

To the last Anonymous, I think it is rude and incredibly tacky to make a snide comment about the group that organized this event.

They have done this for 5 years and sacrificed much energy and personal time to make this event happen. This is all for the benefit of celebrating our Richmond area theater community.

Here is the comment that did not sit well with me:
"Bad enough that the industry awards are run by the critics"

Anonymous, if you really have serious gripes with the awards ceremony, then take it upon yourself to start another event similar to the RTCC awards. You could have theater professionals part of the nominating and decisioning. This would require you to expend some energy…the same kind of energy that the RTCC group puts forth.

But, please, enough with the critics comments. It is just disrespectful and shows a complete lack of appreciate.
